There is so much more to Tango than just dancing! Kick off the evening with a free discussion group (Chamuyo) with Eduardo Saucedo. Get to know him and his perspective on the music, dance, and culture of Tango. Bring your questions and enjoy the evening with this internationally renowned, master instructor from Buenos Aires. He's excited to be back, please come join in.

Continue the evening with a short milonga so he can get to know us better before embarking on a weekend of classes.




Saturday, April 25th at Nexus

12:30 Ð 2:00 pm World of 8 in Tango

The fundamentals of music and moving in Tango never get old. All levels of dancers will have a great time kicking off the wekend with this one.

2:00 Ð 3:30 pm Milonga

The fun, up-beat predecessor to Tango, Milonga, will also be a great time for all levels. Eduardo has great tips to create a fun dance.

4:00 Ð 5:30 pm Tango Nuevo

We step it up a notch for the more experienced dancers finishing off this action packed day with some playful and challenging soltadas that will literally stretch out our embrace as well as some great off axis movements .


Saturday, April 25th at Nexus

7:00 Ð 10:00 pm Milonga - Social Dancing

Sunday, April 26th at Nexus

12:30 Ð 2:00 pm Paradas (Stops)

We will start the day with some enjoyable paradas (stops) that will be accessable to newer dancers yet the technique will help those who have worked on them before.

2:30 Ð 4:00 pm Quebradas en Tango

Part 1 of 2. A super cool step in tango salon that finds it origins in Candombe, a predecessor to Tango. The leader provides a twisting and stable center for the follower to turn around (kind of like a milongaro dip).

4:00 Ð 5:30 pm Milonga and Vals

Part 2 of 2. After part 1, you'll be ready to see how this flexible move can be applied to different types music and improve your understanding of these other two types of tango music.




Weekend Classes at Nexus, San Luis Obispo:

3845 S. Higuera, Downstairs in the SLO Public Market, across Tank Farm from Trader Joe's. If you have not previously signed the Nexus online liability waver, please do in advance.




Cost for 90-Minute Group Classes: $35 per person per class. Register for multiple classes at once and save: 2 for $65, 3 for $90, 4 for $110, 5 for $130, or get all 6 for $145. Pre-register online. Discounts only available when purchased together; $35 per class for pay-as-you-go.

The last 15 minutes of each 90-minute class will be for practice and/or warm-up for next class. Please try to arrive early so you donÕt miss anything.

Private instruction is available for $140 per hour, discounted to $120 for singles or couples who have registered for at least one group class. Please contact Rich to schedule private classes.



 

Eduardo Saucedo is internationally recognized for his love and passion of the dance. He travels the world sharing his knowledge and culture with the people he meets. He considers Tango to be an admirable art form that expresses body, mind, spirit and soul. His clear communication and positive energy motivates and inspires passion in everyone and reflects his love and joy of life. His teaching is creative and practical focusing on subtle details. The essence of the Milongas can be felt in Eduardo's dancing and teaching. His style originates from his working and co-hosting a popular Milonga in Buenos Aires for several years.

Eduardo has complemented this training with studies in various dance disciplines as well as theatre and acting,and is a continuing student of the Performing Arts. He has performed in theatres, appeared on television, and participated in various international tango festivals. He is the Creator, Director, Co-Choreographer and Co-Producer of the dinner show Tango Cafe - Una Noche Ideal, shown in the historical la Confiteria Ideal, as well as other shows.

In Buenos Aires, Eduardo teaches in his private Studio in Palermo, where many other activities and projects are being produced.
