There is so much more to Tango than just dancing! Kick off the evening with a free discussion group (chamuyo) with Eduardo Saucedo. Get to know him and his perspective on the music, dance, and culture of Tango. Bring your questions and enjoy the evening with this internationally renouned, master instructor from Buenos Aires. He's excited to be back, please come join in.

Continue the evening with a milonga so he can get to know us better before embarking on a weekend of classes. Henlie will be your DJ for the evening. No cover for this social dancing event at Nexus, downstairs in the SLO Public Market, 3845 S. Higuera, San Luis Obispo.

Exploring the inside walk in single and double time. The details in these fundamental elements will be of value to all levels of dancers.

12:30 Ð 2:00 pm Legs!

Entrada (enter), Sacada (displace), and Gancho (hook). How to use these movments on the dance floor.

2:30 Ð 4:00 pm Vals

We will explore using inside and outside cadenas (rock turns) in vals.

Sunday, September 3rd at Nexus

Making use of the dynamic and romantic ocho cortados for all levels of dancers.

12:30 Ð 2:00 pm Soltadas

Some fun combinations that break the embrace in Tango Nuevo.

2:30 Ð 4:00 pm Milonga

Eduardo finishes off the weekend with some Milonga combinations for Lisa (smooth) and Traspie (syncopations).

3845 S. Higuera, Downstairs in the SLO Public Market, across Tank Farm from Trader Joe's. If you have not previously signed the Nexus online liability waver, please do in advance.




Cost for 90-Minute Group Classes: $35 per person per class. Register for multiple classes at once and save: 2 for $65, 3 for $90, 4 for $110, 5 for $130, or get all 6 for $145. Pre-register online.

The last 15 minutes of each 90-minute class will be for practice and/or warm-up for next class. Please try to arrive early so you donÕt miss anything.

Private instruction is available for $140 per hour, discounted to $120 for singles or couples who have registered for at least one group class. Please contact Rich to schedule private classes.



 

Eduardo Saucedo is internationally recognized for his love and passion of the dance. He travels the world sharing his knowledge and culture with the people he meets. He considers Tango to be an admirable art form that expresses body, mind, spirit and soul. His clear communication and positive energy motivates and inspires passion in everyone and reflects his love and joy of life. His teaching is creative and practical focusing on subtle details. The essence of the Milongas can be felt in Eduardo’s dancing and teaching. His style originates from his working and co-hosting a popular Milonga in Buenos Aires for several years.

Eduardo has complemented this training with studies in various dance disciplines as well as theatre and acting,and is a continuing student of the Performing Arts. He has performed in theatres, appeared on television, and participated in various international tango festivals. He is the Creator, Director, Co-Coreographer and Co-Producer of the dinner show Tango Cafe- Una Noche Ideal, shown in the historical la Confiteria Ideal, as well as other shows.

In Buenos Aires, Eduardo teaches in his private Studio in Palermo, where many other activities and projects are being produced.
