There is so much more to Tango than just dancing! Kick off the evening with a free discussion group (chamuyo) with Michelle Lamb. Get her perspective on the music, dance, and culture of Tango. Bring your questions and enjoy the evening with this internationally renowned instructor from New York. Come join in the fun & help define the last class for Monday night.

Continue the evening with great food, drink, music, and most of all dancing. No cover for this social dancing event at Derek's Home, 1343 Pismo St, San Luis Obispo (off Johnson). Limited parking, please carpool if you can. Bring an appetizer or dessert to share and beverage of your choice.

Saturday, January 21st, at The Clubhouse, Avila Beach

7:00pm – 10:00pm Milonga (Social Dancing)

Join us for a Milonga (social dancing) at The Clubhouse in San Luis Bay Estates, 6375 Firehouse Canyon Rd, Avila Beach, no cover, but feel free to bring a beverage to share. Henlie is hosting the "Mid-Winter Minimalist Milonga" which is not a potluck, but feel free to BYO beverage/snack. Linda Beekman will supply the music so be ready for a wonderful mix of music to dance some fantastic tandas.

NOTE: Due to flood damage, the gatehouse entrance is closed. Enter San Luis Bay Estates at Sparrow St and San Luis Bay Dr, near the fire station.

Monday, January 23rd at Nexus, San Luis Obispo

8:00 – 10:00 pm All the Rest

The details of this evening will be defined by our discussion Friday at the Chamuyo (so be sure to participate with any request you may have) and how things go in the first six classes. The last 30 minutes or so will be supervised practice to get in your last few questions.


All Classes at Nexus, San Luis Obispo:

3845 S. Higuera, in the SLO Public Market, across Tank Farm from Trader Joe's. If you have not previously signed the Nexus online liability waver, please do in advance.

NOTE: Due to flood damage, classes will be upstairs in what is usually a dining area. The floor there is textured so hard leather soles are recommended.




Cost for 90-Minute Group Classes: $35 per person per class. Register for multiple classes at once and save: 2 for $65, 3 for $90, 4 for $110, 5 for $130, 6 for $145, or get all 7 for $155. Pre-register online.

The last 15 minutes of each 90-minute class will be for practice and/or warm-up for next class. Please try to arrive early so you don’t miss anything.

Private instruction is available for $100 per hour for singles or couples. Please contact Rich to schedule private classes.




Michelle Lamb took her first dance steps at the age of 6 at the world renowned San Francisco School of Ballet. Her dance experience has been broad and eclectic including touring and performing with famous musical artists like Liza Minelli and Aretha Franklin in prestigious venues such as The Royal Albert Hall in London and off-Broadway theaters in New York City as well as that of assistant to the choreographer of the Miss Universe Pageant live telecast. Michelle has toured the world extensively to teach and perform Argentine Tango and performed onstage with Orquesta Color Tango, the award winning Pedro Girardo Orquestras, and choreographed for the classical composer and award winner Joseph Summer. She is currently living in NY, teaching tango and the Gyrotonic Expansion System.

This will be her 5th workshop here in our community since 2008.
