Sunday, November 20th at Motions, Atascadero

12:00 – 1:30 pm Feeling the Music (beg/int)

Christy believes musicality is the key to dancing Argentine Tango at a high level.  The first step is in knowing what kind of Argentine Tango music you are dancing to and what elements of the dance work best with that music.   This workshop explores the 5 categories of Argentine Tango music and some examples of the elements that work best with each one for a highly satisfying dance for you and your partner.

1:30 – 3:00 pm Milonga in the Groove I  (int)

This workshop will explore basic movements in close embrace for Milonga with the focus on musicality. “Milonga in the Groove” is Christy’s concept for finding your musical expression in Milonga by dancing the perfect vocabulary of elements that will allow you to reach that goal with little effort.   Elements include The Milonga Walk, Turning Baldosa, Traspie & Check to Right Turn.  It is hightly recommend to take this workshop prior to taking Milonga in the Groove II.

3:30 – 5:00 pm Milonga in the Groove II (adv)

This workshop will explore more advanced movements than in the prior workshop in close embrace for Milonga with the focus on musicality. These more advanced elements will include “Tres Esquinas”, Follower’s Rhythmic Play and Left Turn to Cadencia which will be blended into the elements used in Milonga in the Groove I and done to Milonga’s with a fast tempo. “Milonga in the Groove” is Christy’s concept for finding your musical expression in Milonga by dancing the perfect vocabulary of elements that will allow you to reach that goal with little effort.
