12:00 – 1:30 pm Interpreting the Music with Milonga Traspie & Milonga Lisa
This workshop takes a close look at the musicality of one particular song: Silueta Portena by Francisco Canero as an example of how each recording or Milonga from the Golden Era of Tango has various moods that should be interpreted by using either Milonga Traspie or Milonga Lisa to express those moods. It is highly recommended to familiarize yourself with this song before attending the workshop (Available on iTunes for $0.99).
1:30 – 3:00 pm Tips to Instantly Make You A More Musical Dancer for Vals
Christy shares with you her 4 very specific tips for instantly improving leaders' Vals musicality while followers will be able to exercise their embellishments in a more musical way as well. As they say, it takes 2 to Tango…and it takes 2 to create the musicality we all yearn for in our dancing. Students will be able to incorporate these tips into their own vocabulary for a higher level Vals. The "Structure of an Argentine Tango or Vals Song” (Sat at 12n) and “Christy’s Recipe for Success on the Dance Floor” (Sat at 1:30) classes are highly highly recommended to prepare for this class.

These elements will be linked into an exciting figure covering 2 phrases of tango music to give students an idea of how the elements might be used in musical way. Finally, students will have the chance to create their own musicality with the same elements.
