Christy Coté -- dancing, choreographing and teaching professionally for more than 25 years -- began her career as a Ballroom and Latin dance instructor for Arthur Murray Dance Studios. For the past 9 years, she has devoted her love of dance to Argentine Tango becoming one of San Francisco's most respected dancers and teachers. She has been featured locally on KVTU's Segment 2 Report with Bob MacKenzie, KPIX/Channel 5 Evening Magazine and nationally in Dance Spirit Magazine.

As the Creator and Director of the Academia de Tango Argentino at San Francisco's popular Metronome Ballroom she oversees and teaches a full schedule of group and private classes, workshops, practicas and Milongas. Christy's teaching method has recently been published by Dance Vision and is their first Argentine Tango syllabus, soon to be accompanied by a series of videos by Christy & George Garcia of Honolulu.

Christy also co-hosts the popular Mariposa Argentine Tango Club Milonga. This is San Francisco's longest running Milonga, now in its 8th year.

Christy performs regularly with MonTango, Trio Garufa and other Tango musicians and produces monthly Tango shows at San Francisco's Peña Pacha Mama restaurant. Christy has performed with various partners including Pampa Cortes (of Forever Tango fame), Daniel Lapadula (Buenos Aires), Marcos Questas (Las Vegas), Angel Garcia (New York City) and George Garcia (Honolulu) as well as with her performance group, The LiberTango Dancers.

Christy has shared her love of this dance teaching and performing Argentine Tango from San Francisco, to Las Vegas and as far away as Istanbul, Turkey and is now looking forward to adding San Luis Obispo to her Tango journey!
